Lara Bint Bassam is the founder of “Lifetalks with Lara”, an inspirational platform that sparks intellectual conversations in the Middle East and around the world, with an end purpose of inspiring the youth.
Lara started the platform as she was inspired by her late father, who always told her that this platform would open many doors for her. Today, she believes that it will open minds and drive enriching conversations that can transform mindsets and touch lives.
Lara believes in the power of storytelling and conversations to change the world and nurture the development of youth. She understands that not everyone is given an opportunity to be heard in their environment; as a result, her platform and purpose is to spread that empowering energy globally, starting with the Arab world.
Lara works for EY and at the age of 21 was charged to lead the EY Women’s Network for a year where she had the chance to organize all events for the network. She moderated a session on age discrimination in the workplace and gender equality in partnership with Glowork, the largest recruitment event in the Middle East region.
Lara is an AUB graduate with a degree in Business Administration and a concentration in Finance. She has engaged in multiple public speaking opportunities over the last 5 years and is recognized as an inspirational speaker. She tackled topics such as the value of hard work, spirituality, determination and various others touching the hearts of many and inspiring others to move forward and overcome adversity.
While in University, Lara represented the Olayan School of Business with 13 other organizations in the audience, delivering a powerful speech on the challenges of millennials. Currently through Lifetalks with Lara, she had the opportunity to share her experience on grief, loss and hope with 150 people.
Lara is determined to leverage her power in public speaking to inspire and captivate audiences around the region and globally. She is a great speaker on a variety of inspirational talks. Her writings were also published on social media platforms garnering over 110,000 viewers.
